Energy (BTU) Metering System (EMS)

BTU Metering system capable of measuring the energy added to or extracted from an electric or fluid stream. Also called thermal energy meter, heat meter, or thermal meter.

In almost all Cooling/heating applications chilled/hot water is used. One is interested in knowing the amount of energy extracted from the cooling/heating media and not the flow rate. This involves the measurement of flow of the cooling/heating medium, the inlet and outlet temperature and then using temperature difference to calculate the Net Heat transferred.
